Soccer Aid 2016 raises £5.4 million and counting

A crowd of nearly 70ꯠ turned out to Old Trafford on Sunday to witness England's breathtaking victory over the Rest of the World for Soccer Aid 2016.

A jaw-dropping free kick from man of the match Mark Wright saw the first goal of the game before the Rest of the World edged back in front. Their lead didn't last for long, with Jermaine Defoe levelling things and finally securing England's win in the 77th minute.

Facing a formidable RoW team including Ronaldinho, Cafu, Berbatov and more, England's victory was far from guaranteed, but no one was more surprised by the final score than our very own Robbie, who came on in the 83rd minute believing the score was still 2-2!

The £5.4 million raised so far - smashing all previous on-the-night totals- will continue to help UNICEF provide children with life-saving food, vaccines and clean water, as well as protecting them from violence, exploitation and abuse.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to this fantastic cause and a massive congratulations to Robbie and the England side!
