Rudebox Receives Ivor Novello Nomination

It’s been a brilliant year for Robbie so far, he’s been nominated for awards all over the world. But there’s nothing like recognition from your home crowd, and today Robbie got just that as he was nominated for an Ivor Novello award.

The highly respected awards celebrate homegrown songwriting talent, so to get nominated for one of these is a bit special. This year, Robbie’s song Rudebox has been nominated in the International Hit of the Year category and has been selected by the Biritsh Society of Composers and Songwriters.

It’s a stiff field, and Rudebox – co-written with Soul Mekanik, lines up against a brace of heavyweights – Madonna's Sorry, and the Scissor Sisters’ I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’.

It’s not the first time Robbie has been at the Ivors. He was honoured two years ago when Angels was named song of the decade, between 1995-2004.

This year’s ceremony, the 52nd, takes place at London’s Grovesnor House Hotel on Thursday May 24th.
