Robbie Wins OYE! Award In Mexico

Just a couple of days ago the ninth ceremony celebrating the OYE! Awards was held in the city of Veracruz, situated in the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Created by the Mexican National Academy of Music (ANAMUSA) in 1998, the award promotes and recognizes music created and distributed throughout Mexico.

This year saw Robbie Williams win the OYE! Award for Best Song of the Year in English with Rudebox! Rudebox managed to beat off the competition from other nominees such as Girlfriend (Avril Lavigne), B'Day (Beyonce), Guapa (Christina Aguilera) and Makes Me Wonder (Maroon 5).

Those who saw the audience at Robbie's concerts in Mexico last year can confirm what this award shows the huge popularity and love the Mexicans have for Robbie. But this year was not the first time Robbie has picked up an OYE!... he also won the award in 2005 for Radio and in 2003 for Best Male Performer.
