Even Robbie gets mixed up sometimes. Usually, like this time, it’s down to some cheeky remixer getting their mits on one of Robbie’s singles and turning it into a club hit and last year’s Soulwax re-rub of Lovelight is no exception.
Belgian duo Soulwax (also know as 2manydjs) twisted the soul smash from last year’s Rudebox album into a serious club banger, a filthy remix that had everyone clammering for a copy when it first saw the (love)light of day last Autumn.
If you missed it, you can now hear what all the fuss was about as the remix is just one of a whole heap of tracks remixed by the pair to be released on a brand new Soulwax remix album, (TITLE TBC). As well as Robbie's Lovelight, there are also Soulwax mixes of Sugababes, Justice and Kylie tracks, besides many more. The album also features a special 2manydjs mix of all the remixes – now that’s a lot of mixing going on.
The album, titled 'Most of the remixes we've made for other people over the years except for the one for Einsturzende Neubauten because we lost it and a few we didn't think sounded good enough or just didn't fit in length-wise, but including some that are hard to find because they haven't been released yet, a few we really love, one we think is just ok, some we did for free, some we did for money, some for ourselves without permission and some for friends as swaps but never on time and always at our studio in Ghent' is out now.
