Happy 10th Birthday To The Donna Louise Children's Hospice

Robbie has been a Patron of the Donna Louise Children's Hospice since 2002 and today he helps to celebrate this amazing place's 10th birthday with the launch of their celebrity-led Ten10 campaign.

This campaign introduces the Celebrity Champions who are lending their support to the campaign: TV comedians Jo Brand and Nick Hancock; Stoke City mid-fielder Rory Delap; 14 times World Darts Champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor; and Potteries star Jonathan Wilkes.

Robbie has narrated the heart-touching short film below that explains the wonderful work that takes place at the hospice.

About the Donna Louise Children's Hospice

The Donna Louise Children's Hospice provides respite for children with life threatening conditions and support for the whole family at both the hospice and in their own home.

The hospice, called Treetops, is based in Trentham, on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent and provides respite and end of life care for children from all over Staffordshire and South Cheshire that are between the ages of 0 and 19 years and have a life-threatening illness. They provide a safe, caring environment where children and families can truly feel at home.

"It's a privilege for me to be a Patron of the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice," says Robbie. "The charity makes a real difference to these children whose lives have been tragically limited and I'm delighted to lend my support".

Since becoming Patron, Robbie has enjoyed a number of visits to The Donna Louise Children's Hospice. The first of these visits took place in 2002 when the hospice was under construction and Robbie wanted to see the progress being made with the building of Staffordshire’s first hospice for life threatened children. On Robbie’s return to England in early 2009, he helped raise the profile of the charity when it was experiencing difficult financial times as a result of the recession. Robbie’s heartfelt plea to the public through the media strengthened the charity's SOS Appeal and he continues to lend his support.
