Golden Boy

The most important awards for any star are the ones chosen by you, the fans. So Robbie is knocked out to have scooped a brace of awards at Hong Kong’s top international music awards.

On Friday Robbie’s track Rudebox was among the top ten snternational songs of the year. Rudebox joined Madonna’s Sorry, Justin Timberlake’s My Love and Beyonce’s Déjà vu in a Top Ten voted for by listeners to Hong Kong’s RTHK radio station.

Listeners to the station have been voting during the month of April, for everything from their Top Song to Top Group, Female Artist and New Act. In the International Male category Robbie was also voted one of their top three male acts of the year. He scooped the Bronze award, closely following Justin Timberlake and James Blunt.

It’s a tightly fought contest in a territory that’s famously difficult for international artists to breakthrough, and bilingual station RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) hosts the only international awards in Hong Kong.

Well done Robbie!
