Last night saw a blistering Soccer Aid showdown take place between England and the Rest of the World as the sporting biennial returned to our televisions for the fifth time.
After a spirited performance from both teams, the Rest of the World managed to pip their hosts to the post, securing a 4-2 win and their second Soccer Aid victory in front of a crowd of 70ꯠ.
Managed by José Mourinho, the winners were captained by Michael Sheen, taking on Sam Allardyce’s England side with assistance from our Robbie.
At the final whistle, viewers had pledged over £2 million to UNICEF’s vital work saving children’s lives, which will be matched pound-for-pound by the UK government, bringing the total to a staggering £4.2 million so far.
As Robbie said himself on Twitter, a huge thanks goes to everyone who has supported Soccer Aid this year. Watch a tearful Robbie celebrating below and roll on 2016!
