The nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been announced and, fresh from his record-breaking Close Encounters world tour, Robbie is in the running for Best Live Act.
Robbie competes in this category against stiff competition from George Michael, Kasabian, Muse and Guillemots.
Robbie already holds the record for winning the most Brit Awards. The star has scooped a jaw-dropping 15, which is 8 more than nearest rivals U2 and Annie Lennox who have both won 7. In 2005 Robbie’s song Angels won a special Brit award when it was voted the best single of the past 25 years.
This year’s Awards will be held on St Valentine’s Day, February 14 at London’s Hammersmith Palais and will be hosted by Russell Brand. You’ll be able to catch all the action live on ITV from 8pm. It’s the first time the Awards have been live since 1989, so anything could happen… and probably will!
